Greetings all:

If you've done any interesting wreck dives lately, please tell us a little about them. As for me, my buddy and I spent a few days searching for lost wrecks in Penobscot Bay (Maine). We didn't find anything great, but we think we're getting close. I'm ssure you know the feeling.

Cheers!

Dave,

About the only new wreck we did last year was the Empire Kingfisher. The wreck went down on January 19th, 1942 off Port LaTour loaded with war materials. Risdon Beazley salvaged it in 1951. We spent a weekend diving it last August. We had two fantastic days of diving with great weather. The wreck lies in 160 feet of water about half a mile from the Port LaTour fairway buoy.

There's a chapter on the Kingfisher in my upcoming book, Wreck Diving Tales. The book should be available to the public in about a month's time.

Cheers,
Al.
